VLM (Internet Ministry) Training in Kleinmond

Hi everybody on my list of friends,

Hope you are still doing fine.

Just spend a whole week in training 7 CCCSA staff from all over the country in the VLM (Internet Ministry) strategies.

Plan a further 6-9 months e-Coaching program with each one individually, till everyone can carry on with the ministry on its own.

Regards,

Pieter Brits

A letter to you

Have you ever received a love letter like this?

All about God's Promises to His children

God’s weapons are powerful

God’s weapons are Powerful and Effective

The armour of God. (Ephesians 6:10-20)

How to Be Sure You're a Christian

How to Be Sure You're a Christian

The young man beside me thanked God for coming into his life, then closed his prayer.  But as we stood to our feet something still seemed to be troubling him.

"It's probably not important," he said when I asked.

"It's just that, well, somehow I thought I'd feel different, but I don't. Maybe God didn't hear my prayer"

Then he asked a question heard so often, "How can I be sure I am a Christian?"

Life in Abundance

Life in Abundance

We parked on top of the hill under a big pine tree.   The forest smells fresh and clean.   The clear call of the red-chested cuckoo (Piet-my-Vrou) echoes through the trees.

It is Saturday morning just after dawn and Magdaleen and I am doing trail-running high up in the mountains...

Single & Lonely, but Fulfilled & Happy

Single & Lonely, but Fulfilled & Happy

During 1989, as young Campus Crusade for Christ staff member, among 5000 other missionaries, I was part of a major international outreach to reach the city of Manila (Capital of the Philippines, population 10 million), over a period of 3 months with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

One of the missionaries, a young local girl named Edna Likwong, worked with us in our area/Buranguy.

“...Anyway, I am still single until now but I'm happy that the Lord filled up the emptiness in my heart. That's how the Lord sustain my needs when it comes to desiring to have a partner.

Joy vs Happiness

Joy vs Happiness

As young man I always dreamed of things that could bring me more joy and happiness.

Life seemingly looked so good when I observe other people, while I only experienced heartaches and loneliness. I longed for things like a beautiful girlfriend, finishing my studies well, good job, fast motorcar, own house, and many more...

Defeat in your life

Do you sometimes experience defeat in your life?

Does it feel as if the powers of evil seem to be stronger than your available strength – as if life is just bullying you?

Often people remain defeated and in captivity for their entire lives.

We are at War

We are at War

The wind is blowing.  A huge wave has just broken over me and my kayak, dumping me into the deep, cold waters of the ocean.  With effort, I get hold of my overturned kayak to turn it upright, and get on top of it again.  Only on my third try, am I successful.  Victory!    (I am attending a kayak survival course on how to handle strong currents, winds and capsizing.)

PROTEA COMPACTA

PROTEA COMPACTA

Despite the devastating fire in January that burned nearly the whole of Three Sisters in the Kogelberg mountain, there are still some Bot River Proteas (Protea compacta), unscathed and flo wering.
In conservation status, Protea compacta is classified as NEAR THREATENED.

This beautiful protea grows only in the coastal slopes and flats (between sea level and 100m) in the extreme South Western Cape.

Praise God for his abundant provision and many blessings!
In Psalm 65, (a harvest psalm), David sings a song of praise and glorifies God the Creator as reflected in the beauty of nature.

Nature shows God’s generosity – giving us more than we need or deserve. Understanding God’s abundant generosity should make us grateful to God and generous to others.

IRRATIONAL LOVE

“When we were overwhelmed by sins, You forgave our transgressions.” Psalm 65:3

Love Encourages Irrational Acts!

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

Noel Was Sent By God

Noel Was Sent By God

As the work increases, along came Noel Livesey, sent by God.
Noel and his wife Jean returned from the Philippines in December 2006, where they ministered for 25 years as Tribal Church Planters with the Manobo people of Mindanao. They have two sons Leon (23) and Evan (19).
In October 2007 they were asked by The United Church Hermanus to conduct a Basic Needs Survey amongst the farm workers in the Hemel en Aarde Valley. In February 2008 Noel began visiting farms and at present there are 5 groups who gather once a week on their farms to discuss issues with the goal to solve their own problems.

IT IS WELL WITH THE WELLNESS STRATEGY!

Presentations To Farmers

During the previous three weeks Pieter conducted at least seven Power Point presentations to farmers in Hermanus, Caledon & Swellendam area.

He explained the Wellness Strategy, its life-changing benefits and challenged them to incorporate it among their leaders and workers.

Please pray that the right people will come aboard and that the Wellness Strategy will impact lives where needed most.

LEADERS ARE CHALLENGED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

During a 3-hour interactive workshop among 9 leaders on one of the apple farms, Pieter concluded with a challenge to impact lives:

Leadership is an art. The art of inspiring followers to perform their duties willingly, competently, and enthusiastically...

The challenge to all was to make a difference from now on, in being the leader, husband and father God wants them to be.

Please pray that these leaders will be able to implement these life changes in their sphere of influence.

Pieter's father died

Pieter's father died

We all knew he didn’t have much time left, but still, when we received the news that he just died, it still came as a shock…

As many of you already know, Pieter’s father died May 7th, 2010 at the age of 83.

Pieter said: “I always knew that the day my father dies, it will be like a library burnt down.”
His whole life was a rich testimony of such a broad spectrum of skill, knowledge and wisdom, that he could have been a world famous professor if he had the opportunities that is available today. There was nothing his hands couldn’t do or repair… he could talk intelligently on nearly every topic… he captivated everybody with his endless stories and jokes…
