Pieter's father died

We all knew he didn’t have much time left, but still, when we received the news that he just died, it still came as a shock…

As many of you already know, Pieter’s father died May 7th, 2010 at the age of 83.

Pieter said: “I always knew that the day my father dies, it will be like a library burnt down.”
His whole life was a rich testimony of such a broad spectrum of skill, knowledge and wisdom, that he could have been a world famous professor if he had the opportunities that is available today. There was nothing his hands couldn’t do or repair… he could talk intelligently on nearly every topic… he captivated everybody with his endless stories and jokes…

Only an hour after Pieter arrived home (Kleinmond) from Mosselbay, he got the news of his father’s death, and had to make quick arrangements to book a flight to Pretoria for the next day. He was in De Rust & Ladybrand to share the Wellness Strategy on Farms with some farmers who are interested to implement it. While in the area, Pieter also trained a group of Christians in the JESUS-film strategy.

Magdaleen was already in Pretoria, visiting the children and was scheduled to fly back home on the 9th of May.

As a result we stayed on in Pretoria for nearly two weeks and Pieter was able to help his mother with many arrangements before and after the funeral. We then flew to Doonside, Natal, for things we had to do there; taking Pieter’s mother with us, and arrived back home in Kleinmond only on the 29th of May.
