Grace

Grace

During the Wellness Sessions by Pieter on Forgiveness, the workers seriously discussed some of the following issues

Farm workers at Protea Farm, Grabouw, agreed:

Grace is like giving someone a second chance!

Unconditional Love

During the Wellness Sessions by Pieter on Forgiveness, the workers seriously discussed some of the following issues:

  • If there is one wrong thing you have done that you could go back and change, what would it be?
  • If God has given us so much that we did not deserve, how does He expect us to treat others?

Undeserved and unconditional love has the power to redeem even the most hardened person.

For by grace you have been saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Undeserved

During the group discussion farm workers explored the unfairness of Jesus parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. (Matthew 20)

  • How can those who worked only a few hours receive the same wages as those who worked the whole day in the heat?

In the end they all agreed that, although seemingly unfair, it is nothing else than a clear example of grace  -  A farmers grace towards some workers.
In the same way God has given us so much which we did not deserve, things like being a child of God, forgiveness of sins, eternal life, etc.  For me, the practical application lies in this:  How do I apply undeserved, unconditional love in my relationship towards others!!
