“I Can’t” – Or Maybe I Can?

How easy it is sometimes to say, “I can’t.”
When the mountain ahead looks too steep, or the challenge feels too big, those words seem to come naturally. Maybe people you once trusted — your parents, teachers, even friends — unknowingly planted seeds of doubt in your heart. Their negative words became like ropes holding you back, until you too started believing that limiting phrase.

But God’s Word shows us another way:

In Philippians 3:14 (NLT) we read:
“…I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

And in Philippians 4:13 (NLT) there is this wonderful promise:
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

When I invited Jesus into my life in 1974, something changed. A light was switched on. I began to believe — not only in Him, but also in what He had placed inside of me.

Today, in my ministry, I cast the net wide. My desire is to help others discover this truth: that they were not created just to survive, but to overcome — through Him, and therefore also in themselves.

My prayer for you today:

May the Lord go before you. May He take you by the hand, guide your steps, and teach you to believe in yourself — because you know who your true source of strength is.

“Ek kan nie” – of dalk tog?

Hoe maklik is dit nie om soms te sê: “Ek kan nie.”
Wanneer die berg voor jou té steil lyk, of die uitdaging té groot, voel dit asof die woorde vanself kom. Dalk het mense wat jy vertrou het – jou ouers, onderwysers, selfs vriende – lankal onwetend saad van twyfel in jou hart gesaai. Hul negatiewe woorde het soos toue om jou gedraai en jou gedwing om self ook daardie beperkende sin te begin glo.

Maar God se Woord wys vir ons ’n ander pad:

In Filippense 3:14 (NLV) lees ons:
“… ek vergeet wat agter my lê, en strek my uit na wat voorlê…”

En in Filippense 4:13 staan daar so bemoedigend:
“Ek is tot alles in staat deur Christus wat my krag gee.”

Toe ek Jesus in 1974 in my lewe ingenooi het, het iets verander. ’n Lig het aangegaan. Ek het begin glo – nie net in Hom nie, maar ook in wat Hy in my geplaas het.

Vandag, in my bediening, gooi ek die nette wyd uit. Ek wil ander help om die waarheid te ontdek: dat hulle nie net gemaak is om te oorleef nie, maar om te oorwin – deur Hom, en daarom ook in hulleself.

My gebed vir jou vandag:

Mag die Here voor jou uitgaan. Mag Hy jou hand neem, jou stap vir stap lei, en jou leer om in jouself te glo – omdat jy weet wie jou bron van krag is.
