Pieter’s News Bit – September ‘24

Retrospect on miracle in Richards Bay:

I think back about a miracle that took place years ago, during an outdoor Jesus film show on a soccer field in Richards Bay.

I had just put the second roll of the film on the projector. It begins with the episode where Jesus calms the storm at sea.

The film hardly started to roll when we noticed that there really is a tremendous storm building up and heading straight our way.

I then stopped the film and told the people that they were welcome to go home, we would be back again the next night.

To my surprise, everyone remained seated - still overwhelmed and deeply impressed by Jesus, who had just calmed the storm on the sea.

Our small team started praying seriously. The dark, approaching storm suddenly turned 90° to the left, went around the football field at high speed, only to turn again 200m further on its original direction to speed on wildly.

Speechless but jubilant, we were able to calmly continue with our show and the evening’s program, without any wind or weather bothering us!

All glory to our mighty God and Father!

I pray that you will also see miracles happen in your life in your walk with our Creator.

My old Jesus film outreach friend, Barry de Vaal, lost his battle with cancer at the beginning of August.

That I will effectively build into people’s lives - also, where I’m giving my testimony in September on two occasions at Christ Gen congregation, and challenge them to work in the harvest field.

Terugblik op wonderwerk in Richardsbaai:

Ek dink terug aan ‘n wonderwerk wat jare gelede, tydens ‘n buitelug Jesus-film vertoning op ‘n sokkerveld in Richardsbaai plaasgevind het.

Ek het net die tweede rol van die film op die projektor gesit. Dit begin met die episode waar Jesus die storm op see stilmaak.

Skaars het die projektor begin draai, of ons merk op dat daar werklik ‘n geweldige storm besig is om op te bou en reguit op ons afpeil.

Ek stop toe die film en sê vir die mense dat hulle welkom is om huistoe te gaan, ons kom die volgende aand weer terug.

Tot my verbasing bly almal sit - steeds oorweldig en diep onder die indruk van Jesus wat so pas die storm op die see stilgemaak het.

Ons spannetjie begin ernstig bid. Die donker, naderende storm draai meteens 90° na links die oomblik dat dit by die voorste lyndraad van die sokkerveld kom en snel voor ons verby, net om weer 200m verder by die ander lyndraad terug te draai op sy oorsproklike rigting, en verder voort te woed.

Sprakeloos, maar jubelend kon ons rustig voortgaan met ons vertoning en die aand se program, sonder enige wind of weer wat pla!

Alle eer aan ‘n magtige God en Vader!
